How We Classify Skill Level

Each completed template job is tagged with a complexity level. A PIC's Skill Index is the weighted average of all their completed jobs — higher levels carry more weight. Use the table below to understand what each tier means.

Level Classification Description
Level 1 Junior / Basic Basic marking operations.
Level 2 Intermediate Double-layer attachment construction, quilting, tacking construction, and embellishment stitching.
Level 3 Advanced Pocket opening construction, or combined quilting with pocket opening.
Level 4 Expert Multi-layer attachment construction, combining more than two operations.
Level 5 Expert+ Combination of more than three operations, including machine modification and programming.

Skill Index is calculated as a weighted average of completed job complexity levels. A PIC is considered Advanced when their Skill Index reaches 2.6 or above, meaning they regularly handle Level 3+ jobs such as pocket openings or combined quilting operations. Reaching Expert (3.6+) requires consistent delivery of multi-operation and machine-level work.
